As my year of being CDT President has wound down, I want to say thanks and share a few of the blessings I have enjoyed in the doing of it.
Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
I trust we’ve all experienced profound success in the last year, even as we have all continued to struggle past the unexpected and painful challenges of the same. The ripples of a global pandemic have touched every topic, detail, and rhythm of our daily work; yet we carry on! The silver lining in that, for me, has been the deeper transparency we have seemed to find in our shared need to stay connected. That is the biggest take-away of sitting in this seat for CDT. I appreciate the cumulative benefits of being in a circle of professionals who want to bring their absolute best work to the table, every single day. I have watched you all take it in stride, minimizing the worst and maximizing the good – sometimes with laughter and sometimes with somberness.
Thanks for letting me be here with you, in the trenches, in the conversations, in the work, in the togetherness. May we always appreciate that the true value in our work, the greatest potential of it all – will be in the very souls of those we encounter along the way.
